Classical Singing Training

This year, 2019, I moved with my wife  to Ashburn, Virginia, USA as Permanent Residents.
Till my departure from India, I have been passionately pursuing my Riyaz on Kheyal, Thumris etc. which was learnt from my Gurus - Pt. Jagdish Prasad and Ustad Ghulam Akbar Khan. Parallely,
I devoted considerable time in practising old Hindi movie songs, mostly by Mohd. Rafi sahib and Manna Dey. Most of my stage performances consisted of light film songs and occasionally Classical too. I had learnt a lot of Nazrul Songs, in Bangla, which are still a treasure for me.

Now, in USA, particularly in Virginia, Hindustani Classicals are practised by large number of people kids and adults included. I have plenty of free time here. So, I am seriously looking for opportunity to teach all that I have learnt to interested pupils.

If any Music School finds me suitable here, I will join. Otherwise, I am looking for students who are ready to come to my place at Ashburn, VA 20147 to take lessons from me. I generally don't get stuck by the clock and try to spend adequate time with my students so that they can do riyaz at their home correctly.

INDEPENDANCE DAY AT MY SOCIETY

The 15th August'11 was celebrated in our complex by the Residents' Society in the usual way with lots of fun, sports for kids and sumptuous food for all apart from Flag Hoisting Speech, Songs etc.

GREAT NEWS !!!

Today 16th August'11 at about 10.40 AM(London time) our daughter

Leela(Tumpa) gave birth to A BOY - ARYA ROY to the delight of all

of us. We and Tumpa's in laws were eagerly waiting for this news since

yesterday when she got admitted to London Central Hospital.

So, now we are Grand Parents of two girls & two boys - Wow!!!!!!

GLIMPSES OF USA TOUR - Oct'10

We stayed a little more than 3 months at Titu's home in Indianapolis. Went to visit Saint Louis and some more places around Fishers City. I went with Titu only to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. This was a real experience. Saw two great wonders - first one mam made and the other made by nature. My long time desire to see these two places got fulfilled. Took many many pictures and made a DVD disc of them.

Had the experience of Camping - something people living in USA are quite used to as summer recreation.

BACK FROM UK & USA - Oct'10

The Durgapuja in our complex of which I am the President demanded our presence. So, we came back to Kolkata, our home just 5 days before Puja. Enjoyed all the puja days in our complex only. I gave a stage performance on modern songs, mostly Hindi on the Dasserah evening.

REACHED USA

We reached Chicago from London on 28th June and were picked up by Titu and Putku(Mitu). We are now enjoying our stay at Fishers, Indiana state. Will post more about our tour later.

On Tour UK & USA

We left Kolkata for London on 7th June. Now staying with Tumpa, Arindam and Ladli enjoying their comfortable home at Northfields. We have seen most of the attractions in London during our previous visits, so there is no hurry to see them again.
Ladli has grown and there is lot of fun being with her. I will post some pictures after a few days.
